Adding an image - FCK editor |

The FCK editor is now the default editor. It has a simpler user interface.
In order to add an image, you need to click the Insert/Edit image button  in the toolbar. This will bring up the Image Manager screen
The user needs to click on the Browse Server button to bring up the File Browser screen.
This screen allows the user to choose where to store images and photos. Match Report images should be stored in stories/teams/. To select an image for upload click the Choose File button which will bring up a standard file browser. Now navigate around your computer top find the file you want to upload. Double click the desired file and you will be returned to the File Browser screen.
Now click on the Send it to the Server button. The image will begin being uploaded to the server and, depending on size of file and broadband speed, should take less than a minute to upload.
Now double-click on the required image to be returned to the Image Properties page. Lots of possibilities available but the 2 key fields are Alternative Text and Width.
Please complete the Alternative Text field with some text that describes the image. Something like "Matthew scores the first goal" is ideal. This text will popup whenever a visitor hovers their mouse over the image. It also helps those with restricted sight who use special screen readers to access the internet.
Width should never be more than 500. This is the standard width of a column of text on our site. Leave height blank.
Now click ok and your image should appear in the text just as you requested. |

The upper half of this screen controls the appearance of the image on the page and the lower half allows the user to choose, upload and select the required image. Lets look at the bottom half first.
The bottom half is divided into 3 panes - the folder pane, the file list pane and the preview pane. Just above the preview pane are control buttons for creating new folders and uploading images, as well as a help button. |
