Match Report
With goal keeper Ian Chatfield suspended, Adam Pullen still injured also missing was Luke Regetti and manager Ali Rennie.Town welcomed back Ben Herdman from his one match suspension.
On a pitch the was more like a ploughed field Town were unable to play football and Ash just resorted to the big boot up field. Town were put under some pressure in the first few minutes. With six played Ash had their first chance to score but they fired just passed the upright. With eight played a long cross ball from Nathan Jupp to Mithun Nayee who put in a clever foward pass to top scorer Kyle Hough who from a tight angle fired home in to the bottom corner to put Town one nil up.From the kick off Town were put under pressure after Joe dropped the ball in the mud and a goal mouth scrambled saw the ball hacked clear. With ten played Ash broke free and scored to make it one one. This was closely followed by Joe pulling of a good save diving to his left. With twenty one played Mithun Nayee put in a great cross which Jack Poplett just failed to connect with. With twenty four played Mithun Nayee was forced of injured and Sam Morgan came on.With thirty two played Nathan Jupp had his shirt pulled but he pick up a booking. With four minutes of injury time played Ash hit the upright and then fired home to go in at half time two one up.At half time Town made another sub with Chris Weller replacing Nathan Jupp. Town went on the attack and first Jack Poplett and then Kyle Hough went close.Next a corner from Jack Poplett saw the home keeper drop the ball but Town could not capitalise on the lose ball. The ball then went up the other end and Chris Weller cleared on the line.Ash then picked up a booking. With eighteen played Ash broke through the centre and Joe came out and brought him down. He received a straight red. So Town needed goal keeper five in the last three games. This time sub Chris Weller went in the goal for Town and Town went down to ten men and unfortunately his first job was to pick the ball out of the net from the Ash United penalty to make it three one. With twenty one played Ash broke free again and scored number four.Next Jack Poplett had a shot cleared on the line and then the referee awarded a goal kick somehow after Kyle Hough had his shot cleared on the line.Next Sam Morgan broke free with only the keeper to beat but again the field won when the ball stuck in the mud and the ball ran out of play.Next sub Sam Morgan was replaced with young Michael Constable. With seven left ten men Town came alive and Kyle Hough broke free and lobbed the keeper to make it four two and score his second goal of game. With three left Ash broke again and scored goal number five to end another miserable away day.
