Horley Town v Furngate Youth
Sunday 29th January 2012
Horley Town lost this fixture the last time these two teams met by just a goal and it was a very tight game again this time round. From kick-off, it was end to end action with some good passing between the boys. Just before half time, Toby Giraldo, having just returned to the team after recovering from a broken arm, unleashed a brilliant shot which hit the crossbar and rebounded back to Harvey Banner who then scored.
The second half saw some good chances on goal from the boys but equally Joseph Marshall had to be strong in defence. With Furngate piling on the pressure, Horley did have to defend with all their players. In the last few minutes of the game, they seemed to lose their formation which led to Furngate having some good shots on goal. Charlie Whiteside saved the day with 2 great saves in the last minute of the game.

Horley Town v Oakwood Red
Sunday 8th January 2012
First game back after the festive break and it was a case of deja vu as the boys registered their second 0-0 draw of the season against Oakwood Red. The match was as tight as the scoreline suggested with there being few clear cut scoring opportunities, little width used and the play predominantly in the middle of the pitch. Harvey Banner put in a man of the match performance as he commanded the centre of midfield and struck the post with a long range free kick.

Horley Town v Three Bridges Amber
Sunday 18th December 2011
Full of festive cheer, Horley Town began the game with a number of well crafted passing moves as they took on their strongest opponents from the opening round of fixtures earlier in the season. As expected, Three Bridges provided a stern examination of the improvement Horley have made in recent weeks. Few chances arose early in the game as the sides matched each other, and the Horley defensive pair of Harry Westlake and Joseph Marshall were relatively untroubled. As half time approached, a strong run from the Three Bridges number 8 saw a low shot directed in the bottom left corner of the Horley net.
Unperturbed, Horley came out for the second half full of confidence. As the game progressed, the pressure began to build and a series of deft passes saw Charlie Whiteside feed Charlie Lansdown on to Harvey Banner whose pass to Taylor Whelan on the edge of the box saw an accomplished low drive into the bottom right corner of the net. Alex Field, making his debut in attack, made a number of important contributions during the game which ended 1-1. |

Horley Town v Three Bridges Amber
Sunday 11th December, 2011
This match saw the boys play in very wet conditions but they started well and created chances in the first few minutes of the game. Charlie Lansdown hit the post and Taylor Whelan shot just wide. The Three Bridges goalkeeper had to be alert and he made some good saves in the first half.
The second half saw more of the same, but with a lot of changes, the boys found it hard to get in their stride. It took one moment of magic with a fantastic pass from Joseph Marshall in defence to Toby Giraldo in midfield to Jack Carey up front who crossed it to Charlie Lansdown who then chipped the goalkeeper to score the only goal of the game.
